Lenovo has recently unveiled its latest addition to the ChromeOS family, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro. This super-compact desktop computer is designed to power digital signage in high-traffic facilities, such as billboards and menu screens in restaurants. With its ultra-thin form factor and affordable price, the Chromebox Micro offers high performance, data security, and easy remote control and device management with ChromeOS.

Measuring just 163 x 79 x 19.7 mm (6.4 x 3.1 x 0.8 inches), the Lenovo Chromebox Micro is smaller than most smartphones, making it perfect for tight environments. Its fanless and ventless design ensures dust-proof operation, making it ideal for critical functions. The device is equipped with an Intel N4500 processor, providing enough power for basic productivity tasks and web browsing.

Despite its compact size, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro offers a wide range of connectivity options. It features two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A connectors, one HDMI port, Ethernet, an audio jack, and a Kensington lock. Additionally, it comes with 8 GB of RAM and 32 GB of eMMC internal storage.

Lenovo has also partnered with Instorescreen to offer 15.6 and 21.5-inch displays that can accommodate the Chromebox Micro behind the main panel. These displays are specifically designed for businesses and their digital signage needs.

The Lenovo Chromebox Micro is set to be available in select markets worldwide from the first quarter of 2024, with prices starting at $219. While the initial focus is on businesses, it remains to be seen if the device will be made available to regular buyers. In the meantime, there are other options like the HP Chromebase, ASUS Chromebox 5, or CTL’s Chromeboxes for those in need of an all-in-one desktop running ChromeOS.

With its compact size, powerful performance, and extensive connectivity options, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro is a game-changer for digital signage solutions. Whether you’re a business owner or simply looking for a versatile ChromeOS device, the Lenovo Chromebox Micro is definitely worth considering.
